Bad Things Happened

I haven't posted for awhile, didn't know what to say or do. Shortly after our 18th my wife left me. I had to sort it out in my head and come to terms with it. I don't know if i will continue to blog our not. So far i am just keeping on doing the homestead. A week after she left my job got out sourced, so it's been fun times on the homestead. Good thing i don't need much or want much. This week i am filing for divorce. Hope things are better for all you folks.

Cactus Bloom

One of the cactus Amy planted bloomed today, It looks really nice and adds some color to the homestead.
Here is a double rainbow from a evening shower
Laying in the water line from the well to our water tank, The old garden tractor sure saved a lot of digging using the plow.

Start of Monsoon

A few things have happened since my last post, had a bad wind storm that took down my wind generator and broke the blades. The problem was i wasn't deep enough in the ground and it up rooted it like a tree.

The new blades installed and a deeper hole dug now the gen is flying once more!!
The summer monsoon is finally getting started, we got over a 1/2 inch of rain yesterday
The wife's new solar powered clothes dryer, the wind destroyed our umbrella style one.
The garden is growing so good, we have been over run with produce, looking forward to our melons getting ripe!

Made a new adjustable solar panel mount, works great now our panels are getting sun as soon as it raises.

Moved everything into this little shed and shortened my wire runs all is working great now.

I am currently building a solar dehydrator and will post it as soon as it is finished. Also we are planning on building a greenhouse at the end of the month. Also in the works is a wood gasifier to run a 7kw onan generator, this unit will be used to run the well pump and be our back up power for the homestead.

Also we have some Black Jersey Gaint chicken eggs coming for the incubator, we are going to start raising some meat birds, The Jersey's can reach 14 pounds, some people call them the poor man's turkey.

Stay tuned a lot of neat stuff coming soon!!

Today we went to dig up some fresh beets for supper, they are the size of softballs lol! The well is finished and we started pumping our own water today. We cleaned our water storage tank and refilled it.

The well is 260 feet deep and the water level is at 228 foot. We are pumping 10 gallon a minute. Now we are planting trees.

Busy Spring

Our goat's had there babies on March 6th and the 10th both are fine and get in to everything, I got my goat milking stand built and had to have my daughter get in it so i could adjust the neck lock since her neck was about the same as our goats lol.

Me milking our goats with a milker from Dansha Farms, much easier then hand milking

Our drip system i made for watering our Fig tree's and Raspberries and Blackberries

Our spring garden, we have already been picking kale and collard greens

Our new baby goats they are so much fun and love attention

We had to hire a new well driller he has been drilling a new well and almost finished now in under 2 weeks, the old well driller we had to file against him in court for not finishing the job and he was paid.
